FAQs-
medication management
Have Questions?
Finding the right medication provider can feel like a big step, and it’s completely normal to have questions about what to expect. Below are some of the most common questions I receive about medication management, appointments, and how my practice works. My hope is that this information helps you feel informed and comfortable as you consider care for yourself or your student.
What conditions do you treat?
I specialize in medication management for ADHD, anxiety, and depression in children, adolescents, and college or graduate students.
What makes your practice different from a primary care office?
After years in a busy primary care practice, I really value being able to see patients for longer, uninterrupted, and on-time appointments. (It’s tough to offer that kind of attention when juggling sick visits and urgent phone calls!)
My practice is designed to provide thoughtful, individualized care in a calm and supportive environment. I make it a priority to spend the time needed to understand each patient’s unique goals and challenges.
You’ll have direct access to me for questions or updates, flexible scheduling options — including before- and after-school telehealth visits — and appointments that allow for meaningful conversation and collaboration.
Do you offer telehealth appointments?
Yes! I offer follow-up telehealth visits, including before- and after-school hours, to make care more convenient for students and families. These secure video appointments allow you to connect from home, school, or campus—so that appointments can fit naturally into your routine.
How do the visits work?
We’ll begin with a comprehensive initial evaluation to understand your (or your child’s) symptoms, history, and goals. If medication is recommended, I’ll explain all options and we’ll make decisions together. Follow-up visits focus on tracking progress, adjusting as needed, and ensuring that treatment continues to meet your needs.
How long are appointments?
New patient appointments are typically at least one hour, allowing plenty of time for a thoughtful discussion and careful planning. Follow-up appointments are usually shorter, scheduled based on each patient’s needs—we can be flexible and schedule extra time if needed.
Can I contact you directly between appointments?
Yes. One of the benefits of this practice is direct communication with me for medication-related questions, concerns, or updates between visits. I strive to be responsive and supportive so that you feel confident managing your care between appointments.
Do you coordinate with schools or therapists?
Absolutely. With your permission, I collaborate with therapists, school counselors, and other healthcare providers to ensure a consistent and well-rounded approach. This collaboration helps support both academic and emotional success—especially for students balancing multiple demands.
Do you accept insurance?
Yes. I participate with a number of insurance plans, which are on the Insurance page.
